Dear Parishioners:
This weekend, our parish is starting a Baby Bottle Campaign that will help the Life Center of Long Island to provide moms and dads with much needed basic essentials for their newborn babies. The Life Center is a non-profit 501(c)3 serving Long Island for over 37 years and have assisted over 68,000 women and helped save over 2,400 babies.
They have now 4 pregnancy care centers known as Women First Pregnancy Options located in Hempstead, Massapequa, Deer Park and Smithtown, strategically located 1 block away or across the street from Planned Parenthoods.
Their primary focus is to educate those facing an unplanned pregnancy about the numerous resources available so they can make truly informed and empowered decisions regarding their unplanned pregnancy with hopes they will choose life for their baby. All services of the Life Center are free!
They provide free pregnancy test kits; free sonogram referrals in collaboration with the Gianna Center of Long Island and Catholic Health hospitals; maternity housing referrals for those who meet certain criteria; Parenting and Life Skills workshops, Support and Healing After Abortion, a Men’s Advocacy program and much more.
Their support continues after the baby is born: they provide essential aid such as diapers, wipes, baby clothes, cribs, car seats, etc. until the baby is two years old.
Over the past two years, the Life Center saved 72 babies lives. They distributed the equivalent of over $800,000 of baby items to over 2,300 Moms and Dads from our local communities. 266 women right here within our parish community went to the Life Center for help.
The Life Center is supported entirely by charitable gifts from people like you who call Long Island home. As you leave church today you are asked to take home an empty baby bottle, fill it with your spare change and return it to church on the weekend of May 4/5. Checks can be made out to the Life Center of Long Island.
You’ll find a prayer attached to the bottle and we ask you to say that prayer often, even daily for God’s blessing on the work of the Life Center and the precious men, women and children they serve. THANK YOU!
Remember: Together, we can do something beautiful for God. In Christ,
Fr. Brian
