Dear Parishioners:
As you know, Thursday marked the 24th anniversary of the tragedy that took place on 9-11 in Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C. and here in New York City at the Twin Towers. Even now, we need to pray for those who died and especially for the families of the victims. The scars of those who lost loved ones in the 9-11 attacks run very deep. We pray for those families, and we pray for peace and for an end of terrorism throughout the world. We remember our First Responders and all the members of our Armed Forces who serve us and protect us without any fanfare each and every day.
Our Feast starts in about three weeks: Friday, October 3rd thru Sunday, October 5th. Please come down and support the parish. Make sure to invite your family and friends from outside the parish as well. You can help the success of the feast through our 50-50 raffle. Tickets are $25 each or five tickets for $100. You have to be in it to win it! Pray for good, sunny weather! Also, become an “ANGEL” or “ARCHANGEL” sponsor. See the bulletin for details. And, check the bulletin for ordering the “POP (pay one price) tickets. There are various opportunities for discounts, etc.
Also, on Friday, October 3rd at 5:00 PM, we will have the Feast PROCESSION around the grounds of the church. You should be a part of the procession. The procession helps make our feast more than just a feast; there is a spiritual element as well. Finally, (I think), I will be going to the Prison Mission with the New York State National Guard. I went up to Camp Smith (in Westchester) to “sign in” and I will be going up to the Buffalo area prisons on this Monday, September 15th. I will be there until September 24th and then I will return to the Parish for two weeks. Thus, I will be here for the Feast, etc. Then, I will be back in Buffalo from October 7th to October
30th. We will see what happens after that!
Remember: Together, we can do something beautiful for God.
In Christ,
Fr. Brian
