St. Patrick’s welcomed Fr. Louis Cona as our associate pastor in 2023. Fr. Cona grew up in Franklin Square with his parents, Rita and Louie, and his sister Raquel and brother Angelo. Fr. Cona graduated from H. Frank Carey High School and received his sacraments from St. Catherine of Sienna parish.

Fr. Cona is a graduate of Georgetown University where he studied political theory. While at Georgetown he was involved with the Knights of Columbus, the Religious Freedom Project, the Cardinal O’Connor Conference on Life, and worked as an intern on Capitol Hill.

Fr. Cona entered the seminary for the Diocese of Rockville Centre following his graduation from Georgetown. He first entered the Cathedral Seminary House of Formation in Douglaston, Queens where he earned an MA in Philosophy through St. Joseph’s Seminary and College. Fr. Cona continued his priestly formation at the Pontifical North American College in Rome. He received his STB from the Pontifical Gregorian University and his STL in Moral Theology from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum). While in Rome Fr. Cona served as a “Scavi” guide, leading pilgrims to the bones of St. Peter beneath the Vatican Basilica.

Fr. Cona was ordained to the priesthood on June 18, 2022 at St. Agnes Cathedral in Rockville Centre by Bishop John O. Barres. Fr. Cona served briefly as associate pastor of St. Therese of Lisieux in Montauk before returning to Rome to complete his studies. He began serving as our associate pastor on June 28, 2023.
