Dear Parishioners:
As you know, we hosted our First Annual Family Festival a few weeks ago. I think it was fantastic, and I hope you and your family had a great time. As you can imagine, that success can only come about with a great deal of “behind the scenes” work. That took a lot of time, energy and commitment. While I apologize for possibly missing out on a few people, I would like to thank the following: Deacon Jerry Reda and Joe Aiello, our Festival Chairpersons. They put in an incalculable number of hours before, during and after the Feast.
I also would like to thank the following Festival captains: John Pilkington (Security and for being Dcn Jerry Reda’s right hand man!), Michelle Russo & Dave Wener (Ticket Sales), Tina Parisi (Sponsorships), Becky Reilly (Advertising & Communication), Marily De Jesus (Clean-up), Joe Aiello (Raffles & Beer Garden) In addition, thanks to the Legion of Mary for hosting the Shrine tent and thanks to the Knights of Columbus under the leadership of the Grand Knight for all they did. I also want to thank John Piazza for constructing the platform for the statue of the Blessed Mother for the Festival Procession.
Moreover, there were numerous people who worked every hour of every night; I counted at least 30 people who put in all those hours. Think about volunteering next year; put it on your calendar now.
While I cannot list everyone who helped out, I deeply appreciate all the hard work and effort of so many parishioners. They certainly lived out our parish motto: Together, we can do something beautiful for God! I do not know what the final results are yet because we still have bills to pay, credit cards to process, etc. We will not know the results until the end of October but we had great crowds over the weekend.
I would also like to thank our sponsors who donated so much to our festival. Please consider using their services and thank them for being sponsors when you see them. A list of sponsors is located in the page across from this page.Remember: Together, we can do something beautiful for God.
In Christ,
Fr Brian
