Dear Parishioners:
The son of a friend of mine wrote this poem one year for his mom on Mothers’ Day. I always liked it
and I dedicate it to all our moms.
WHEN
When I didn’t know the way
You gave me a map.
When I needed to be cradled
You sat me on your lap.
When I was feeling a little ill,
You gave me love and care.
When I was feeling alone
You were always there.
When the world was against me
You were my only friend.
When my heart was broken,
You were there for it to mend.
When I needed support,
You were a rock.
When I needed answers,
You were the wisest of the wise.
When nothing went right,
You gave me hope.
When I needed money,
You gave it, even when broke.
When I needed help,
You lent a hand.
When I started to drift,
You showed me where to land.
When I needed a parent,
You were the perfect match.
When I was insecure,
You told me I was the best.
When I was selfish and mean,
You were patient and kind.
When I was stubborn and cruel,
You were gentle and refined.
So, if you ever need me, every now and then, All you have to do is say “When.”
Prayerful best wishes to all our mothers! God bless them and reward them for all their sacrificial love towards us. Moms are the best!
