Bereavement Support Group—A free eight-week support group at St. Mary’s Parish in East Islip for adults who are struggling to cope with the death of a loved one. Registration is required. Meetings begin on Wednesday, May 9th from 7:00-9:00pm and will run on consecutive Wednesdays through June 27. Refreshments will be served. In order to participate in this group, the death must have occurred prior to Feb 21.

36th Annual Catholic Charismatic Conference—Aug 3-5 at Scranton University in Scranton, PA. A bus has been chartered for the conference and will be picking up all interested at Saint Cyril and Methodius Parish in Deer Park and at Our Holy Redeemer in Freeport. This year’s theme is, “He makes me to lie down in green pastures … He restores my soul.” Psalm 23: 2-3.

Fifth Annual Variety Show produced by the Dr. Vincenzo Sellaro Sons of Italy Lodge #2319. THE 70's SHOW will be performed on Sat, Jun 30 at the Byzantine Resurrection Church Parish Hall, located at Mayflower and Edgewater Avenues in Smithtown. $25 includes live entertainment, popcorn, soda, coffee, tea, and cake. Preparing for Marriage? - Engaged Encounter is a effective Pre-Cana program designed to provide you with the tools for a successful marriage. Couples are given the opportunity to explore many aspects of their relationship through a series of presentations, writings and dialog. There are no group discussions. Volunteers Needed—Maria Regina Residence, 1725 Brentwood Road in Brentwood, a 188-bed Skilled Nursing Facility under the care of the Sisters of St. Joseph is seeking compassionate, dedicated men and women as volunteers (usually one morning or afternoon per week). Service areas include assisting the pastoral team as Eucharistic Ministers, helping transport residents in wheelchairs, assisting with recreational service, or other needs in the building.
