Benefits and Resources Fair for Veterans and Seniors—Sat, Apr 29 from 9:00am - 1:00pm at the Long Island State Veterans Home, 100 Patriots Road in Stony Brook in the Multi-Purpose Room. Experts will be on hand to answer questions regarding VA Benefits, Insurance and Managed Care, Medicaid, Affordable Housing, Home Care, Assisted Living, Nursing Homes, Elder Law and Legal Counseling, Mental Health, Banking, Funeral Arrangements, Burial Benefits, and more. Representatives from Northport VA Eligibility and Enrollment will be on site. Free health, dental and vision screenings, including free blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose checks will be performed by Stony Brook Medicine Schools of Nursing, Social Welfare and Dental Medicine. Event is free and open to the public.

Magnificat Breakfast—Magnificat, a ministry to Catholic women, is holding a breakfast on Sat, May 6 at The Hofstra Club in Uniondale at 9:45am. The speaker will be Allison Ricciardi, a licensed mental health counselor and frequent guest on Catholic radio programs. The breakfast is $35 per person and pre-registration is required.
