Bereavement Support Group—A free eight-week support group at St. Mary’s Parish in East Islip for adults who are struggling to cope with the death of a loved one. Registration is required. Meetings begin on Wednesday, May 9th from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and will run on consecutive Wednesdays through June 27th. Refreshments will be served. In order to participate in this group, the death must have occurred prior to Feb 21.

Broadway Tunes/Disney Sing-a-Long—Join parishioner Mary Peck for an evening of Broadway tunes and Disney sing-a-long hits on Fri, Apr 27 from 7:00-7:45pm at the Smithtown Library Main Building. Registration is limited to children ages 5 to 7 with parent/caregiver.

Eucharistic Ministers Needed -St Catherine of Siena Nursing and Rehabilitation Care Center in Smithtown is in need of Eucharistic Ministers. Please consider donating an hour or two a week distributing the Eucharist. Your service will provide spiritual support and comfort to the residents and rehabilitation patients. You will be performing both a spiritual and a corporal work of mercy. Days and times are flexible, training is provided.

Help Wanted—Temporary Religious Education Secretary-position at Parish of the Holy Cross in Nesconset, May 21 to Aug 31, Monday through Friday from 9:00am-4:30pm. No Benefits as this is a temporary position. Responsibilities: Typing, filing and answering phones in the Religious Education Department; inform Religious Education Director of all tasks and communications with parents and catechists, input into PDS of Religious Education re-registration and new registration information for Fall 2018; completion of all forms including allergy forms, photo permission and tuition payments; opening and handling of daily emails and mail received for the department; back-up phone coverage for parish secretary; ordering and checking-in of office supplies; copy and collate catechist information for Fall 2018; assist with the formation of catechist groups for Fall 2018; Kidsword for week-end Masses copied on weekly basis; assist with preparation for Vacation Bible School, (runs from July 9th to 13th) including preparing and typing needed registration lists, schedules and groups for program as well as helping with overall running of program that week.

Volunteers Needed for Handicapped Encounter Christ 34th Annual Retreat— Retreat will take place Thursday evening, Apr 26 to Sunday afternoon, Apr 29 at Camp Alvernia in Centerport. Many roles need to be filled: Companion/team members, kitchen help, set-up/strike camp, and drivers.
