Bereavement Support Group—A free eight-week support group at St. Mary’s Parish in East Islip for adults who are struggling to cope with the death of a loved one. Registration is required. Meetings begin on Wednesday, May 9th from 7:00-9:00pm and will run on consecutive Wednesdays through June 27. Refreshments will be served. Retreat in Assisi and Visit Rome - Fr. Jim McNamara invites you to a special retreat in the footsteps of St. Francis and St. Clare in Assisi Jun 15 – 25. Fr. McNamara will give two conferences a day for six days in Assisi with Mass each day in the various Churches. There is ample time for prayer and visiting the holy places. Summer at St. Joseph Seminary in Yonkers and Huntington—St. Joseph Seminary offers masters degrees and certificate programs. The summer session runs from Jun 4-July 17. Volunteers Needed—Maria Regina Residence, 1725 Brentwood Road in Brentwood, a 188-bed Skilled Nursing Facility under the care of the Sisters of St. Joseph is seeking compassionate, dedicated men and women as volunteers (usually one morning or afternoon per week). Service areas include assisting the pastoral team as Eucharistic Ministers, helping transport residents in wheelchairs, assisting with recreational service, or other needs in the building.
