Annual Dominican Gala—The Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville will host their annual gala on Fri, Nov 2 at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury. Cocktails begin at 6:00pm followed by dinner and dancing. This year the congregation is honoring NBC Meteorologist Al Roker and Sr. Ave Clark, author and founder of the Heart to Heart Ministry in Bayside. The gala raises funds to support the ministries of the Sisters of St. Dominic.

At the Cenacle—The following programs are being offered at the Cenacle in Ronkonkoma:

  • Contemplative Singles—Sundays  from 10:00am-2:00pm, Sep 16, Oct 21, Nov 18, Mar 17, Apr 28, Jun 16, Jul 21, and Aug 18. Offering of $35 each month includes lunch.
  • Centering Prayer Afternoon—Sundays from 2:30-4:00pm, Sep 16, Oct 21, Nov 18, Dec 16, Feb 17, and May 19th. Freewill offering. Registration required.
  • Present Moment—learning to live in the present moment and embracing life with compassion for others and ourselves, Alternating Tuesdays from 6:30-8:00pm, Sep 11 & 25, Oct 9 & 23, Nov 6 & 20, 2019: Mar 5 & 19, Apr 2 & 16, May 7 & 21, Jun 4 & 18. July 2, 16 & 30, and Aug 13 & 27. Offering: $20 per person.

At the St. Joseph Renewal Center—The following programs are being offered during September through December at the St. Joseph Renewal Center in Bay Shore:

  • Women to Women is held the second Tuesday of the month beginning Sep 11, “Knitting into Mystery.” If you like to knit or crochet, this is the experience for you. Offering: $15 per session.
  • Day of Prayer for Men and Women, “Wrestling with God” will be offered on Sat, Sep 15. An offering of $25 includes a light lunch.
  • Enduring Spirituality for Senior Men & Woman is offered on Fridays from 10:30am-12:00pm Oct 5, 12, 19 and 26. Offering: $15 per session.
  • An Afternoon of Prayer for Married Couples, “Marriage is Like a Garden” Sun, Oct 28 from 2:00-7:00pm. An offering of $100 includes a light supper.

Christ Against Cancer—St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Fundraiser, Sun, Oct 7 from 5:00-9:00pm at the Babylon Village Track, 500 Railroad Avenue in Babylon. Candlelight vigil around the track. Supporters will be asked to donate 5$ for battery candles which will be lit as we walk in contemplation of all the children suffering from cancer.

Gennesaret Retreat - A retreat specially designed for persons who live with a serious illness is planned for Sep 21, 22, and 23 at the Montfort Spirituality Center in Bay Shore. This retreat offers a respite, a quiet time, an oasis, to enable one to continue the journey. The retreat focuses on God’s love, His forgiveness, and His faithfulness. Ministry to Families with Special Needs—Families with members who have special needs or developmental disorders often find it difficult to attend Mass together. St. James Parish in Setauket offers these families the opportunity to experience and celebrate God’s presence in a special Mass which will be celebrated at 1:00pm on the following Saturdays during the fall: Oct 13, Nov 10, and Dec 15. Refreshments and fellowship to follow in the church basement.
