Bereavement Support Group—A free eight-week support group at St. Mary’s Parish in East Islip for adults who are struggling to cope with the death of a loved one. Registration is required. Volunteers Needed—Maria Regina Residence, 1725 Brentwood Road in Brentwood, a 188-bed Skilled Nursing Facility under the care of the Sisters of St. Joseph is seeking compassionate, dedicated men and women as volunteers (usually one morning or afternoon per week). Service areas include assisting the pastoral team as Eucharistic Ministers, helping transport residents in wheelchairs, assisting with recreational service, or other needs in the building.
